OLPC XO-2

Nicholas Negroponte, the head of OLPC (One Laptop Per Child) Foundation will announce the new generation of OLPC XO, the XO-2, in 2010.

This Prototype of XO-2 is completely different than its predecessor, The XO-1 Laptop, it has dual touch-sensitive displays, smaller than common laptop, and and will have a foldable e-book form factor also,  as you can see from the video and the pictures.    

“The next generation laptop should be a book,” Negroponte said.



The dual indoor-and-sunlight displays will work in two mode, horizontal and vertical mode, when it is in vertical mode, the XO-2 will provide right and left page design, and will become a a flat, two-screen surface for tablet-esque use in horizontal mode.

     

 “Younger children will be able to use simple keyboards to get going, and older children will be able to switch between keyboards customized for applications as well as for multiple languages”, the press release reads.

The XO-2 laptop will also reduce power consumption to 1 watt.





Negroponte hopes through give 1, get 1 program, also help they who will buy this laptop to develop the world by give one laptop to achild and get low cost laptop for themselves.
